W!th Th!s F!re - Porches & Basements

W!th Th!s F!re (!WTF!) are two friends of mine from nearby Auburn, MA. Anthony plays acoustic guitar, sings mostly, writes all the lyrics and music, etc. Charles plays the mandolin and sings a bit.

If I remember correctly, !WTF! started in the spring/summer of 2005. I have the first demo that Anthony gave me from the summer of 2005 (I think). Then it was just him. I think he might have done a demo or two in between Porches and Basements (which was recorded on an 8-track and released in February of 2006), adding Charles on mandolin somewhere in that time. Charles now also plays acoustic bass sometimes too instead of mandolin, but that isn't on any of these recordings. Up on their MySpace they have a new song from a recent demo from their new full-length that will probably be out in the next couple of months.

All of the covers are hand-drawn, so each one is different, which is why I don't have a cover up on here. The insert/sleeve is just a photocopied piece of paper and the CD is just a CD-R. I can scan mine if anyone wants me to. I got the link straight from their MySpace. Feel free to add them too, I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Hello to all in blogger-land. You may know me from the For Want Of and/or the Planting the Seeds of Revolution blogs. Anyways, I'm creating this blog to do something similar to those except I'm going to be highlighting music from my local scene, which is Central Massachusetts.
